App won't connect to radar

Symptoms

  • •Radar shows as "Offline" or "Unavailable"
  • •Cannot add new radar device
  • •Connection keeps timing out

Solutions (try in order)

  1. 1Ensure phone and radar are on the same WiFi network
  2. 2Check Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  3. 3Force close app and reopen (swipe up from recent apps)
  4. 4Verify radar is powered on and showing solid blue LED
  5. 5Move phone closer to radar temporarily
  6. 6Restart your phone
  7. 7Delete and re-add the radar device in app
App crashes or freezes

  • •App closes unexpectedly
  • •Screen becomes unresponsive
  • •Loading screens freeze

Solutions (try in order)

  1. 1Update app to latest version (check App Store/Google Play)

  3. 3Ensure Do Not Disturb mode is off or Guardian is exempted
  4. 4Check internet connection on phone
  5. 5Verify emergency contacts are added in app
  6. 6Test notifications using in-app test button
  7. 7Log out and log back into the app
Cannot log in or account issues

Notifications not showing on lock screen

  • Settings → Notifications → Guardian → Lock Screen → Enable
  • Settings → Notifications → Guardian → Show Previews → Always
  • Check Focus mode isn't blocking Guardian notifications

App background refresh disabled

  • Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Enable
  • Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Guardian → On
  • Ensure Low Power Mode is off during critical times

Location permission issues

  • Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Guardian → While Using
  • Allow "Precise Location" for better device connection
  • Restart app after changing location settings
Android Issues
Common problems on Android devices

Battery optimization killing app

  • Settings → Apps → Guardian → Battery → Unrestricted
  • Settings → Battery → Battery Optimization → Guardian → Don't Optimize
  • Disable any third-party battery saver apps

Notification channels disabled

  • Settings → Apps → Guardian → Notifications → All Categories → Enable All
  • Check "Override Do Not Disturb" is enabled for Guardian
  • Set notification importance to High or Urgent

App drawer or launcher issues

  • Long press app icon → App Info → Storage → Clear Cache
  • Update your launcher app to latest version
  • Try different launcher if issues persist

  • Select "Uninstall" or drag to trash
  • Confirm deletion when prompted

  • Android only: Settings → Apps → Show System → Clear all Guardian data
4Reinstall App

  • Search for "Guardian Fall Detection"
  • Tap Install/Get and wait for completion
