Fall detection for aged care

More context for the people who care.

Bring non-wearable radar sensing into the conversation about care. Guardian connects room-based fall detection and movement information with nominated people, alongside your existing care processes.

Aware Guardian room-based radar sensor

Guardian senses in the room. Your team brings the context and response.

Start with your people.
Build around your setting.

A useful deployment brings the physical room, the people involved and daily operation together. Explore what to plan with Aware.

Support with personal space in mind.

Consider Guardian for a defined room where non-wearable sensing fits the resident’s wishes and existing support. There is no camera or microphone.

Assess placement, charging, connectivity and suitability for each room.

Give every notification a next step.

Agree who receives information, who checks the situation and how the team follows its existing response process. Make backup and after-hours responsibilities clear.

Confirm the actual account, access and notification workflow for the proposed service.

A setup your team can work with.

Plan charging, connection checks, access changes, training and interruptions. Review the experience with residents and the people responding before adding more rooms.

Supported integrations, service levels and commercial terms are confirmed for your deployment.

A view of movement over time.

Explore activity patterns alongside the person’s routines and circumstances. A change in movement does not explain its cause or provide a diagnosis.

Know who will check in.

Configured notifications go to nominated people. Agree who responds, who is the backup and what to do if a notification cannot be delivered.

Personal space stays personal.

Guardian does not record video or conversations. Start with participation and the resident’s wishes, then agree what information is needed and who should have access.

Care is still a team effort.

Monitoring information supports the people providing care. Guardian does not replace emergency services, staff judgement or existing checks. Plan who responds alongside your current care process.

Review access and service questions

A considered start.
A clearer next step.

A bounded pilot gives residents and your team a way to evaluate the setup in your actual environment. Agree the scope, costs and acceptance criteria before it begins.

  1. Define the setting.

Choose rooms and participants. Agree intended use, consent, access and the people responsible for responding.

  2. Test the complete experience.

Check placement and connectivity, configure nominated contacts, practise the response process and plan interruptions.

  3. Review before expanding.

Bring together resident and team feedback, setup findings and agreed acceptance evidence to decide what comes next.

A few things worth knowing.

Does AwareCare Pro replace a nurse call or clinical record system?

Keep your existing nurse call and clinical record systems in place. Ask Aware to confirm any supported integration for your deployment.

Is AwareCare Pro certified to a particular security standard?

Ask Aware for current security, hosting and assurance documentation. This page does not establish certification to a particular standard.

How should a provider begin?

Choose a small pilot area, agree who will respond and test the setup with your team before expanding. Include residents’ participation, access, costs and the measures you will use to review the experience.

Can this cover every room at a facility?

Coverage needs to be assessed room by room for the supplied model, placement and connection. A village-wide or facility-wide deployment is a scoped arrangement, not a capability established by one installed sensor.

What should a team do during a service interruption?

Keep existing care and emergency processes in place. Agree responsibilities for checking connections and charging, alternative checks, escalation and recovery before the pilot starts.

No sensing system detects every event. Placement, charging, connectivity and configuration affect operation. Guardian and Aware do not replace emergency services, clinical advice or in-person checks. Agree who responds and test the setup.
