Does Guardian use a camera or microphone?
No. Guardian uses radar sensing and does not record video, images or conversations.
Does someone need to wear a device?
No. Guardian is positioned in the room, so there is nothing to wear each day.
Does Guardian detect every event?
No. No sensing system detects every event. Placement, room layout, power, connectivity and configuration affect operation.
Does Guardian replace emergency services or in-person checks?
No. Guardian supports configured notifications and care decisions. Use 000 for an immediate threat to life or safety in Australia.
What connection is required?
Choose a WiFi model for a suitable home network or a cellular model with its own connection. Confirm current requirements and service coverage before purchase.
What does the monthly service cost?
The required connected service is $39.99 per month, per device, including GST. It supports the Aware app, configured notifications and activity insights.
Can a funding plan pay for Guardian?
Guardian may be eligible under some Support at Home or NDIS plans. Approval depends on the person, their plan and the relevant provider or funder.
Where should Guardian be installed?
Use the current placement guidance supplied with the model. Contact Aware before installing in an unusual, shared or high-risk room.
