Alert & Notification Troubleshooting

Fix notification delivery problems, alert timing issues, and escalation flow problems.

Critical: If you're not receiving fall alerts, test your system immediately using the in-app test function. Do not rely on an untested alert system.

Not receiving any alerts
High Priority

Symptoms

  • •Fall detected but no notification received

Solutions (try in order)

  1. 1Check notification permissions in phone settings
  2. 2Verify emergency contacts are added in app
  3. 3Ensure phone has active internet connection
  4. 4Disable Do Not Disturb or add Guardian to exceptions
  5. 5Check phone is not in Airplane mode
  6. 6Log out and log back into app
  7. 7Verify your account status is active
Alerts arriving late

Symptoms

  • •Notifications delayed by several minutes
  • •Inconsistent alert timing
  • •Some alerts arrive immediately, others delayed

  • Test escalation flow manually
3Emergency Services Not Called
  • Verify emergency escalation is enabled
  • Check 911/000 integration is activated

Quiet Hours Troubleshooting

Alerts still coming during quiet hours

Quiet hours only silence non-critical alerts. Fall alerts always come through for safety.

Quiet hours not activating

Check time zone is correct in app settings. Verify quiet hours schedule is saved.

Want to silence all alerts temporarily

Use "Pause Alerts" in app (max 4 hours). Fall detection still active but notifications paused.
